SWIKEE INDONESIA FOOD MADE FROM FROG MEAT

Swikee or Swikee is Indonesian Chinese cuisine made from frog thighs. This dish can be found in the form of soup, deep fried, or sauteed. Originally this dish comes from the influence of Chinese cuisine into Indonesia. The term "swikee" is derived from the Hokkien dialect (水 雞, Peh-oe-ji: SUI-to) sui (water) and to (chicken), which is a slang or smoothing for calling frogs as "water chicken". These foods are usually associated with the area Purwodadi. [1] The main ingredient of this dish is the frog legs (generally of "green frog" or "green frog" (Jw.)) With herbs garlic, ginger, and tauco, salt, and pepper. It was served with a sprinkling of fried garlic and celery on it, swikee usually served with white rice.




Some argue that the taste and texture of swikee is a blend of chicken and fish. Generally only the thigh frog that made swikee, but part of the skin can be dried and fried into crispy skin of frogs. Now there are several farm frogs for export meet the demand of foreign markets, especially France.
